    MahaNakhon

Thailand's Tallest City - A Miniature of Life

    Architectural design: Büro Ole Scheeren

    ©Srirath Somsawat

MahaNakhon means "metropolis" in Thai, and the tallest building in Thailand is a striking feature of Bangkok's skyline.
The 77-story skyscraper, which cost $4.6 billion, has pixelated and carved silhouetted to echo the irregularity of the ancient terrain, creating a three-dimensional pixelated ribbon effect geographically that wraps around the entire tower.

There are parts of the tower that seem to have been excavated, which serve as a metaphor for the life inside the building to the city and to the people of the past.
Some may say that it looks unfinished from a distance, but what the designers want to show is that it is not a pure gesture of perfection. The form of self-contained contradiction promises more untamed inner energy, like this city.

The glass viewing platform on the top floor of the building is W4.5 m and L17.5 m and floats 300 meters above the city, offering a 360-degree view of the city and the river. It is an exciting and exciting destination for tourists to clock in.
The tower also features 200 custom-built apartments, a boutique hotel, multiple floors of shopping, cafes, restaurants, viewing decks and outdoor plazas. It is a microcosm of city life!

    The Forestias

People-oriented Environmental Protection-Model for Future Life

    Architectural design: Foster + Partners

    ©Foster + Partners

Foster + Partners has completed 'The Forestias', a resident-led master plan for sustainability on the outskirts of Bangkok.
At the heart of the project is a forest, where the designer hopes to rebuild the bridge between modern life and traditional culture, and create a new model of urban life in the future.

It will be a smart city, with autonomous driving, smart meters, wireless sensor networks, and designers envision a healthier, happier future living model.

The site is divided into two zones. The northern part will contain more urban public functions, while the larger southern will create residences in nature.

Taking inspiration from the lively streets between traditional neighborhoods, the City of Mori will create an architectural and social space with infinite potential for expansion in the future.
The forest at the core of the plot demonstrates the link between the environment and nature, as residents and visitors walk through lush green Spaces and urban oases. The southern section will include a variety of residential types ranging from high-rise buildings to villas.

    The Commons

Dynamic Small Business - Create More Outdoor Space

    Architectural Design: Department of ARCHITECTURE

    ©Ketsiree Wongwan / W Workspace

The Commons is an exuberant, small commercial project in the heart of Bangkok. The designer aims to respond to the area's hot climate and dense living conditions by creating more active outdoor Spaces for people.

On the broad ground, a vertical open-air space, as the backbone of the building, folds upwards and grows. At ground level, a series of progressive steps and platforms connect the street to the upper level.

These steps, ramps and platforms, seating, plants and kiosks blend together. The structure of the third and fourth floors provides good shelter for the open Spaces on the ground floor from the rain and intense sun.

The ceiling on the ground floor is illuminated from below, creating an almost floating effect for the upper buildings and a comfortable commercial atmosphere.

A thin steel mesh is used for the facade, which facilitates visual transparency and ventilation, as well as a light appearance.

    Early BKK Concept Coffee

    Practice Green and Sustainable Concepts

    Architectural Design: Spacecraft co.,ltd

    ©Thanapol Jongsiripipat

Located in one of the most densely populated neighborhoods in Bangkok, Early BKK's owners and designers wanted to create a casual cafe that would bring happy hours, while taking a truly green and sustainable approach.
"Recycling and utilization" became the breakthrough of design. Considering that there are still many problems in urban waste management, the utilization of waste materials becomes the highlight of the project design.

It is a building facade composed of nets and old glass bottles, which is unique and beautiful.

Tables and chairs also come from "recycled board"
The 600 used beer bottles are placed in the metal ring structure of the building facade.

Some used beer bottles are broken down into pieces and made into terrazzo, which is used as the main material for countertops and toilet floors.

The coffee shop has two floors and a semi-outdoor courtyard with lush plants. With pet-friendly business philosophy, it allows neighbors from all walks of life to come here to wind down.

The overall space is bright and airy, and the flexible layout allows the second floor to have multiple functions.

    Out of the Ground

    Architectural Design: Plan Architect

Located in northern Bangkok, the project is not only the office of the Ministry of Agriculture, but also a public museum for the dissemination of agricultural technology and knowledge by modern urban species. Breaking the ground like a toppling posture makes it very attractive.

The office building of the Golden Jubilee Agricultural Museum has a total floor area of 5,900 square meters, including seminar rooms of various sizes, ranging from 10 to 700 people. The building also has ample exhibition space, museum shops, offices and more.

The architects adopted the concept of "rising from the ground" to express the form of crops growing out of the soil. The architects also included plenty of trees on the roof of the building, allowing the building to blend in with the surrounding landscape.

    WoodSmith Museum

Wood-colored Metal Plates Show the Integrated Concept

    Architectural Design: Openbox Group

    ©Panoramic Studio

The WoodSmith Museum was converted from an old warehouse into a museum and storefront. It is an extension of the Vanashai headquarters office building.

The design team transformed the old warehouse into a museum integrating stores and storage rooms, which was the beginning of the project, and the multifunctional space was integrated into the existing warehouse.
The facades are mostly metal cladding panels and standard-sized grilles, painted in varying shades of wood.
The interior is inspired by traditional wood workshops, where sawdust floats in the air, filling the space like brown smoke.

    Luxury Hotel, Enjoy Comfortable

    |
    The Magnificent Hotel Bangkok

polyline rhythm takes meaning from traditional culture

    Architectural design: KPF

Located in Bangkok's main central business district, the design of the Jewel Bangkok is inspired by the elegant hand movement of the "wai" -- a simple and elegant Thai greeting that expresses a welcome gesture whenever and wherever possible.
Not only does the building's sloping shape reflect Thai culture, but as the height of the building rises, the designers create terraces, floor panels that shrink from floor to floor and unique Spaces for settling in.

Vertical garden, also with three-dimensional landscape and indoor waterfall

The vertical interior garden space, with its verdant three-dimensional landscape and enchanting indoor waterfall, creates an unforgettable experience, just like the famous cave in Thailand.

Unveil the Curtains to Greet the Guests

    Architectural Design: Plan Architect

The six-story Bangkok Downtown Hotel contains a variety of public amenities, such as the hotel lobby, restaurant, swimming pool and Thai spa.

The exterior of the building is very distinctive, incorporating a modern style into traditional Thai architecture. The unique Thai classic pattern not only has native and artistic aesthetic characteristics, but also provides the function of shading for the interior curtain wall.

The front of the hotel is like an open door, ready to welcome guests.

In the courtyard, white vertical supports represent the pillars of traditional Thai temples. At the end of the column is a reflective glass wall like a mirror, which visually completes and continues this outdoor temple.

    ©Panoramic Studio

This is Bangkok, both traditional and modern, either local or international. Based on the local environment, climate and culture, the architects continue to deeply explore the materials, space and structure, and practice the presentation of diversity and richness.

Thai architecture is in progress, looking forward to the future infinite possibilities.

    Olivier Bonhomme

    Take in the Jazz

French artist, Olivier Bonhomme’s work is wild and passionate.

The work is full of tender beauty.

Soft shadows and toned tones are her signature style.

In her illustrations, the traditional lead painting and modern sense are combined, and the vague objects and images go with delicate touches, which are full of freshness.

Since then, more and more independent musicians have come to him to design albums and posters, and he enjoys the freedom to create music art.

Although his works are flat, he can make different shapes appear expansive through the technique of “digital airbrush”.

The superposition of light spots and the treatment of the relationship between light and dark make the work full of psychedelic futuristic metallic.

The theme of each illustration is whimsical, confusing and curious.

Through different geometric shapes, beautiful science fiction colors and rough grain texture, it presents a psychedelic retro and trendy visual experience.

When the illustration is combined with the album, both are given meaning beyond their own.

Be it illustrations themselves or the albums, which become more meaningful, thus bringing us both auditory and visual enjoyment.

  3. 3D Wall Art – 10 Styles You Need to Know

3D wall art is a phenomenal way to liven up your interiors. If you’re a hotel manager or small business owner, understanding the different styles and mediums available to you is vital. On this page, we’ll cover some of our favorite approaches to 3D wall art. We’ll include plenty of product examples to help you choose the option that’s best for you.

    3D Metal Wall Art

3d metal wall art often takes cues from industrial, modern sources. Icons of industry and similar shapes are not uncommon. Expect colder color palettes with striking lines and impressive designs. As a medium, metal has excellent strength but less flexibility. Be sure you love the image you choose before committing.

We have several 3D metal wall art options available. Our golden and silver metal heart wall and golden birds spring to mind. Note how their golden color lifts them away from a cold, industrial feel.

    3D Wooden Wall Art

Wood is a phenomenal material to use for your 3D wall decor. Studies show that exposure to natural materials, colors, and shapes can have a profound impact on your guest’s sense of wellbeing. The natural grain of this medium can be absolutely beautiful. Look for pieces with exposed wood grain and a variety of hues for best results.

    3D Acrylic Carving Wall Art

3D acrylic carving wall art is a great way to effortlessly elevate your interior spaces. With just a few well-placed pieces, you’ll have lobbies, communal spaces, and bedrooms that are undeniably welcoming. Acrylic is a very affordable material to produce which makes it an excellent medium to choose when sourcing 3D wall art for your business.

Our catalog contains a few choice pieces of 3D acrylic carving wall art:

    3D Pottery Pieces

Clay offers a beautifully flexible “canvas” to artists with enough skill to wield it. Ceramic sculptures can be vibrant and colorful, minimalist and austere, or anywhere in between. It’s a medium that’s surprisingly affordable, easy to work with, and remarkably popular. Galleries, hotel lobbies, and private collections around the world likely feature ceramic somewhere.

Those looking for 3D textured wall art will love the depth and shape of our ceramic pieces. They’re designed to be affordable and undeniably flexible for a broad variety of interior design choices.

    3D Handmade Copperplate Etching

Copper is an excellent medium for those looking to buy wholesale hotel art. It’s a relatively affordable material that can still be used to great effect. A 3D handmade copperplate etching can look absolutely fantastic when placed appropriately, for example. The natural color of copper means you’ll have to think closely about the palette you use for the rest of your space. Think warm, inviting hues that are well matched with some neutral tones.

Copperplate etching is a traditional form of printmaking that uses copper as its primary medium. It produces crisp, attractive lines that look absolutely beautiful when implemented correctly.

Our catalog contains 3D copperplate etchings that are equal parts affordable and beautiful.

    3D Wall Art Sculptures

Wall art that embraces the “3D world” is well worth considering. The aesthetic choices available can take many forms. More lighthearted, lichtenstein-esque pieces are not uncommon. Equally, there are many 3D wall art decor sculptures that strike a more sincere chord. When choosing pieces for your space, consider the materials they use, the cost they incur, and how long they’re likely to last.

Ceramic is a common medium used for 3D sculpture. Two great examples are this spoons artwork and this charming interpretation of chess pieces.

    3D Paper Wall Art

Paper art is playful, defiant, and daring. Artists take a famously fragile material – paper – and use it to craft pieces that stand the test of time. The textures, shapes, and aesthetic designs possible with the medium of paper are more varied than you may expect. When implemented correctly, 3D paper wall art can transform the impact of your interior design.

Be sure to pick colors and shapes that work for your space. Check out our two paper pieces below:

3D String and Nail Wall Art

As you may have guessed, two mediums are primarily used in this kind of art – string and nails. These materials are positioned and interconnected to produce stunning shapes and otherworldly depictions. If you want depth and texture for your 3D wall art, this is a great option to go with. The distance between the string and the back canvas creates a natural depth that can be absolutely stunning. When paired with the right lighting setup, the shadows this casts can be very effective.

    3D Leather Wall Art

Leather is surprisingly versatile material if you know what you’re doing. 3D leather wall art has grown in popularity in recent years. Leather’s textures, depth, and flexibility make it a great option for hotel owners and interior designers. A common application of this medium is more modern pieces that challenge the viewer’s imagination.

Expect abstract images and a playful use of shape and color.

    3D Minimalist Wall Art

It’s time to take a departure from detail – let’s leave maximalism far behind us! Minimalist art is often considered an off-shoot of abstract art. It uses simple shapes, lines, and aesthetic choices to create scenes that depict exactly what they need to – no more, no less. “What’s the simplest way to achieve my artistic goal?” is a common question asked by minimalist artists.

We feature a number of minimalist pieces on our site:

  5. Story Behind the Art: 8 Public Art Sculptures That Heal

In these uncertain times, we have plenty of material things, but emotions are often ignored.

The worrying mental state of contemporary people always appears frequently on the network platform.

Today SOA Arts have selected the works of 8 art healing artists, which may heal the spirit and take you on a healing journey.

    01 Minako Shirakura

    Listen to the Wind Breathe

Contemporary artist Minako Shirakura's iconic work is a spatial sculptural installation made of broken glass or mirrors.

Suspended pieces of mirror are implicated by thin transparent lines, and the breeze shuttles between them, making a crisp sound.

Transparent glass, shadows and light are her favorite materials for creation. "Because they symbolize what is visible but hard to feel."

Her work reflects a fragile sense of balance.

She believes that the world is a web. Even when the wind blows, the resilience of the web can resolve the crisis, but when there are strong forces to cut it, then all good things will be lost.

    02 Crystal Wagner

    Stretched Spread of Color

The facade art installation outside the Art Nouveau building in Lodz, Poland, was completed by artist Crystal Wagner.

The work of art attached to the surface of the building has an eerie aesthetic, as if the building is exposing its neural network to the world, or the city is being invaded by an alien species.

Crystal Wagner's installations have a strong sense of space, and she specializes in combining two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms. Build giant hybrid installations attached to buildings or suspended in large Spaces.

Nylon rope, wire, cable and cable ties are all her creative materials.

By imitating organic ecology in nature, she interprets wantonly growing vegetation or flowing water with smooth lines and fantastic colors.

03 Lisa Pacini & Christine Istad

    Traveling Sun

Norwegian artists Lisa Pacini and Christine Istad created a 3-meter diameter LED circular light installation modeled after the sun, and mounted it on the back of a car as it criss-crossed Norway's polar night towns.

To simulate the colors of the sun, their device can also change the colors of light.

It can be an illuminating yellow or a sunrise mauve.

Because a third of Norway is in the Arctic Circle, where you can't see the sun for six months of the year.

So two romantic artists took this mobile "little sun" and headed north from Oslo to Norway's polar night, sending warmth to people along the way.

    04 Angel Oloshove

Holding the Sunset in Your Hand

Gradient dream "stone" that as if be injected a life.

These lovely ornaments are the pottery work of Angel Oloshove, an artist from the United States.

Ceramic sculptures of Oloshove used a combination of pictorial mist glazes to give the work a soft, delicate, iridesce appearance.

The different forms of "stones" look clumsy, soft, and full of life. On the other hand, they are a "persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure".

She is said to have been inspired by the gorgeous sunsets in Texas to create the whimsical 'Sorcerer's Stones', and at the heart of her ceramic art is' holding the sunset in your hand'.

Oloshove says that these "magic stones" were also her emotional stash stones, and that by holding them in her arms, she was able to bring about emotional interaction with them.

    05 Haus - Rucker - Co

    An Oasis in A Bubble

This is a utopian architectural fantasy from the last century.

In the 1960s and 1970s, the huge problem of environmental pollution triggered the creation of utopian experiments in different fields.

Haus-Rucker-Co is a Vienna-based architecture team that combines architecture, psychology and technology to create wildly daring inflatable and parasitic buildings.

This sparkling personal oasis, Oase Nr.7, grafted outside the Friedrichian Museum, is one of them.

The 8-meter-diameter transparent plastic ball protrudes from the window like a bubble from the building, with two palm trees and a hammock inside.

Diving into bubbles is like coming to your own private shore, allowing tired people to escape from the hustle and bustle of reality for a while.

    06 Sarah Sze

    A Bond with the Sky

At Laguardia, a large spherical public installation hangs above the atrium of Terminal B.

Walking around it, you can watch the sky change over 24 hours, from morning to sunset, just as the Earth moves around the sun.

Shorter Than Day, an installation by artist Sarah Sze, features thousands of photos of the New York sky at different times.

From day to night, 24 hours a day can become a matter of moments here.

Sarah Sze has a special affection for the sky, and her other public art, Falling Sky, is also about the sky.

A broken circle of 132 irregular pieces of highly polished stainless steel sits atop the Storm King Art Center, an outdoor gallery in New York City.

The installation can clearly reflect the sky and surrounding scenery, like the sky fragments scattered in the mountains.

It reflects the change of scene according to the passage of time and the perspective of the audience, and explores the relationship between the individual and the collective, the past and the future.

    07 Basia Irland

Read the River with An Ice Book

Icebook is an art project that American eco-artist Basia Irland has been working on.

She made books out of chunks of frozen river water and carved seeds from local plants into the books.

Once finished, the ice book is returned to the river, where it gradually melts.

The seeds in it are scattered everywhere along the river, starting its life journey.

Basia Irland started the art project to create works about rivers, climate change and nature after becoming concerned about the melting of glaciers caused by global warming.

Basia Irland hopes to use these special books to make people understand climate change and the importance of rivers.

    08 Rebecca Louise Law

    The Upside-down Garden

Perhaps because her family has been artists or horticulturists for six generations, London-based artist Rebecca Louise Law has a natural love of getting in touch with nature.

Her work seeks to explore the special relationship between human beings and natural materials.

Of all her works, flower hanging works are the most popular.

Her works often consist of thousands of real flowers suspended from the ceiling by copper wires, forming an immersive upside-down aerial florist installation.

To prevent the flowers from rotting, she hung them upside-down, which is how we usually make dried flowers, allowing them to air dry intact and then be preserved.

The audience is placed in the colossal flower installation. Through appreciating and observing the changes of flowers over time, they can feel the process of natural life from freshness to decay.

To understand the relationship between humans and nature, to find the meaning of life.

Healing works of art are not only moving when you look at them, but the thoughts they provoke will also grow over time in your life, achieving physical and mental healing.

Flowers may be beautiful, but they will eventually decline and wither, and Rebecca wants them to stay beautiful for a long time.

  8. Three Main Differences Between Fiberglass Sculpture and Resin Sculpture

In recent years, the sculpture industry has like a hundred flowers in bloom. There are a variety of sculptures in society, such as stone carving, copper carving, stainless steel sculpture, fiberglass sculpture, etc. Among them, the most popular is fiberglass sculpture because it has lightweight, corrosion resistance, simple process and relatively low cost.

We also know that FRP sculpture is a sculpture made of fiber-reinforced plastic called FRP as the raw material, and there is resin in the composition of FRP, so, what is the difference between FRP sculpture and resin sculpture?

    1. Composition of Sculpture

Although resin sculpture and FRP sculpture both come with raw resin materials, there are still differences between them, mainly in: resin sculpture is made of raw materials only unsaturated resin, while FRP is the basis on unsaturated resin adding glass fiber, making FRP products more solid, more corrosion-resistant, more in line with market demand.

    2. Production Process of Sculpture

Resin sculpture is made after determining the product style, creating a product mold, and then pouring unsaturated resin into the mold, polishing, and painting after solidification, and finally obtaining resin sculpture.

The production of FRP sculpture is different, and the production of FRP sculpture should be designed first, because customers have different needs for FRP sculpture, such as animal FRP sculpture, human portrait sculpture, and so on. Then the production of FRP sculpture can be made. The making of FRP sculpture is to first make the products with specific clay materials to produce the corresponding products. After the clay sculpture is finished, turn the plaster outer mold and then paint the inside of the outer mold with FRP. After drying, the outer mold is opened, and the finished product of the FRP sculpture is obtained by closing the mold.

    3. The Style and Quality of the Sculpture

Resin sculpture is generally based on a variety of landscape models, such as figures, animals and plants, mountains and rivers, and can imitate a variety of materials, and most are placed indoors. Storage time is generally about 10-15 years. The production models of FRP sculptures are mostly animated cartoons, animals and so on. The products of FRP sculptures are relatively large, and they are generally placed as outdoor landscapes. FRP sculptures can be used as environmental embellishment to make the community more distinctive and can usually be kept outdoors for 3-5 years.

That's all; the above is the different answers about FRP sculpture and resin sculpture. Hope you can distinguish them after this sharing.

  9. What Material and Thickness Is Generally Chosen for Stainless Steel Sculpture?

Stainless steel sculpture has been widely used because of its excellent performance, corrosion resistance and lightweight. When purchasing, customers often worry that the steel plate is not thick enough and the material is inappropriate for making sculptures.

In fact, these problems that customers are worried about, and the manufacturer has fully taken them into account when making stainless steel sculpture.

    1.  the Production Process of Stainless Steel Sculpture

In terms of the production process and steps, whether placed indoors or outdoors, the general production of stainless steel sculpture is similar. Polishing, by contrast, small stainless steel sculptures is much more challenging to deal with than sizeable stainless steel sculptures.

The smaller the stainless steel sculpture, the smaller the clearance at the Angle will be so small that the drill can not penetrate into it, resulting in difficult grinding in place, and the polishing process in these areas is likely to leave defects.

Therefore, in stainless steel sculpture design, especially tiny stainless steel sculpture, it is vital to consider that the overall shape design is conducive to post-production to avoid leaving hidden problems in the process.

    2. Material of Stainless Steel Sculpture

In terms of material, in China, 316 stainless steel is rarely used even for large stainless steel sculptures. One because 316 stainless steel is nearly half the price of 304 stainless steel expensive, followed by from the point of view of maintenance. Although 316 stainless steel corrosion resistance is much better than 304 stainless steel, if not displayed at the seaside or in humidity, 304 stainless steel is sufficient.

NEW CHINESE STYELE ART | stainless steel sculpture with crane-themed

    • Stainless steel crane sculpture in the shape of a red-crowned crane delivers an elegant and dynamic form with a dazzling and beautiful mirror effect.
    • It uses 304 stainless steel forging, surface polishing, high brightness, like a mirror, placed in the pool, shining in the sun.
    • It boasts a decorative function of stainless steel crane sculpture and beautiful overtone, so it is loved and favored by people and has become the mainstream of landscape sculpture.

    3. Thickness of Stainless Steel Sculpture

In thickness, if the plate is too thin or too thick, which is adverse to the process implementation and completion of stainless steel sculpture. The thicker the plate, the less easy to shape, and the price is relatively high. If there are no special requirements, the thickness of stainless steel sculpture is generally 1.5mm, 2.0mm, or 3.0mm.
