  1. 10 Most Artistic Shopping Malls Worldwide | Queen Victoria Building (Part3)

Welcome to our ten-part series on Most Artistic Shopping Malls Worldwide. This post, Part 3, focuses on Queen Victoria Building, Sydney.

    NO.03

    Queen Victoria Building, Sydney

The Queen Victoria Building is a 19th-century Roman Revival building in the heart of Sydney, Australia. It is located on busy George Street, next to The Sydney Town Hall and St. Andrew's Church.

Completed in 1898, the Queen Victoria Building dominates an entire city block, with a glass dome in the middle of the top.

Originally designed as a marketplace, the building has historically held various uses, including a library and Sydney City Council. But in the middle of the last century, it was abandoned and almost demolished. It was not until the end of the last century that it was finally restored to its original commercial use.

With its glass domes, painted Windows, spiral staircases, arches, columns, railings and intricately patterned floor tiles, the interior has been described as "the most beautiful shopping mall in the world".

Elegant Victorian style shop frontage on 4 main floors. There are hundreds of boutiques, restaurants, cafes and gift shops. In addition to international brands, there are also local brands.

Much of the building houses a collection of historical treasures and artifacts. Such as the British Royal jewelry display, the very distinctive "Royal Clock" and "Great Australia Clock" and so on.

Most interesting of all is a letter from Queen Victoria II to the people of Sydney. The letter, written in 1986, will be read by the Lord Mayor of Sydney when it is unsealed in 2085.

For Australians, the Queen Victoria Building is a shopping mall, a good place for leisure, a witness to history, and a source of pride.

  2. Essential Interior Design Tips to Create a Scandinavian Bedroom

    source: Spacejoy

The Scandinavian aesthetic is increasingly becoming popular, thanks to its elegant, minimalistic, and effortless interior design elements. Many are in love with how this theme prioritizes functionality, although subtle accessories are usually added to the space to prevent it from feeling too cold.

If you’re looking to unwind in a cozy and restful atmosphere, then why not create a Scandinavian bedroom? This theme will elevate the most sacred part of your home, transforming it into a clean-looking space that you’ll find hard to leave!

Here are a few interior design tips to help you create a Scandinavian bedroom.

    Warm Lighting is Crucial

    source: Євгенія Височина

Scandinavian countries, like Denmark and Sweden, receive as little as seven daylight hours in the winter months. Because of this, warm lighting is crucial when emulating this interior design aesthetic. Invest in lamps and fixtures that give off a soft glow, rather than a harsh brightness. Alternatively, you can opt for lights that can be dimmed, which will allow you to set the mood of the space too.

Lighting can also be used to add texture to your Scandinavian bedroom. For instance, why not wrap fairy lights around your bed frame or fireplace mantel? Doing this will also give the space a rustic edge, which is a huge plus if you’re into that particular aesthetic.

    Choose a Neutral Color Scheme

    source: Spacejoy

Before creating a Scandinavian bedroom, first think about the look that you want to go for. This means picking out a color palette, which, according to the principles of this design theme, should be neutral. Whites, creams, grays, and blacks are the usual go-to shades but if you want a more colorful vibe, then sage greens, deep rust oranges, light blue, and pale yellow are the way to go.

This interior design aesthetic is usually characterized by neutrals and cold colors; however, this can be easily toned down by incorporating potted plants and succulents, which add warmth to the space. Or you can opt to include “pop shades,” such as dusty pinks and vibrant sea greens, both of which would be perfect accents to your Scandinavian bedroom.

    Pay Attention to Textures

    source: Amira Aboalnaga

Texture plays a crucial role in this interior design aesthetic so you’ll have to pay close attention to it if you want to create a Scandinavian bedroom. For starters, drape a soft blanket over a rough-looking chair – the contrast between their two materials will exude a warm and welcoming vibe.

Multi-leveled shelving in various sizes would be a good starting point too. Not only does it add texture and visual interest to the space, but it’ll also promote storage-savviness. Functionality is the crux of the Scandinavian theme, so make sure that you aren’t sacrificing it for aesthetically-pleasing furniture.

    Invest in Minimalistic Artwork

    source: Spacejoy

Minimalism and simplicity might be the focal points of the Scandinavian aesthetic but that doesn’t always mean putting up with bare walls. If you’re a big fan of artwork, then don’t worry – you can still hang up your favorite pieces.

To make sure that the artwork is in theme with your Scandinavian bedroom, invest only in simple pieces with clean and structured lines. Having two or three large ones hanging up on your walls is highly recommended. Additionally, choose prints in a similar color scheme to give the space a more cohesive feel.

Focus on Hygge-Friendly Interior Design Elements

    source: Spacejoy

Hygge (pronounce hue-gush) is a Danish word that refers to a certain quality of comfort and coziness that leads to feelings of contentment. When it comes to interior design, it means incorporating elements that encourage you to enjoy your present environment.

“When we talk about hygge in interior design, it is about creating intimacy and bringing coziness into your home,” says South Florida-based interior design firm HIK Interiors. “Hygge style is not cluttering your home with expensive furnishings and artwork. It is more about enjoying life’s simpler side.”

To incorporate hygge into your Scandinavian bedroom, make sure to invest in interior design elements that promote warmth and coziness. For example, you can opt for soft textiles, like throw blankets and faux fur rugs. Choosing scented candles with comforting aromas, such as vanilla or cinnamon, would be great too.

Finding the perfect artwork for your newly-created Scandinavian bedroom is tough but luckily, SOA ARTS is here to save the day! 3. 10 most Artistic shopping malls worldwide | Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II (Part2)

Welcome to our ten-part series on Most Artistic Shopping Malls Worldwide. This post, Part 2, focuses on Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Milan.

    NO.02

    Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Milan

Walking in Milan's most regional city, nothing can beat the two landmarks, from the duomo to la Scala, connected by the magnificent Galleria Emanuele II.

As the world's oldest shopping mall, Galleria Emanuele II, with a history of more than 150 years, is not only an architectural gem of Milan but also one of the most charming and artistic commercial arcades in Europe.

The Arcade takes its name from Vittorio Emanuele II, the first king of a united Italy. In 1860 an international competition was held in Milan for proposals for a commercial corridor, and the winner was Giuseppe Mengoni, a railway engineer.

The Arcade was built with an impressive array of designers, glassmakers, ceramicists, master blacksmiths and talented craftsmen. It brings together the ultimate achievements of architectural design and art decoration at that time.

The foundation of the Arcade was laid in March 1865, and a decade later the grand arch facing the Cathedral Square was finally completed, but no celebration, as the designer Mengoni fell to his death from a scaffold the day before its completion, a source of enduring regret and mystery.

The Arcade, 198 meters long from north to south and 105 meters long from east to west, is topped with clear arched glass and an exquisite cast-iron roof, intersecting in a cruciform form in the central octagonal space. The sunlight shining through the glass vaults on the delicate relief frescoes shines with divine light.

As the forerunner of the modern glass shopping mall, Arcade is not only the gathering place of high-end luxury goods but also the first choice of leisure and entertainment with the most distinctive features in Europe. It gathers the essence of Milan, embodies the soul of Milan, and beats the rhythm of Milan.

Here, there are gleaming fashion showcases and a fragrance of sip lingering in a coffee bar; There are endless spiritual trips in the bookstore and the hustle and bustle of large crowds; There are the most luxurious hotels, also have urban style fast food, everything.

You can even take an elevator up to the arcade roof for a 360-degree view of Milan's spectacular city. While enjoying shopping, you can trace the history and enjoy the unique enjoyment brought by culture and art.

  4. Rustic Decor Design Ideas for Your Space in 2022

    source: Nikola Jovanovic

There’s nothing quite like the warm embrace of home. Whether you’re a hotel owner or domestic design aficionado, creating a welcoming atmosphere for your interiors is rarely a bad plan. Looking for rustic decor design ideas? This page should help.

We love helping people make their design dreams a reality. The tips below are designed (pun intended!) to spark your creativity. The rustic aesthetic is quite forgiving, but there are a few things you might like to keep in mind.

Rustic Design Styles – Our Tips

If there’s one thing rustic design styles teach us it’s that there’s beauty in simplicity. Creating an atmosphere of warmth, trust, and the country should be your main goal. How? Check out our suggestions below.

Cosy is the Name of the Game

    source: Max Vakhtbovych

How can you create spaces where your guests feel welcome? Cushy sofa chairs? Rich, homely throws? Simple-yet-beautiful artwork? The choice is yours. Rustic is all about those home charms – those little pockets of comfort that make us keep coming back for more.

When sourcing each piece for your interiors, ask yourself the following question: “does this feel like home?’.

    Wood Panelling and Rich Tones

    source: Lum3n

Your budget and contractors will determine what you’re able to achieve here. If you can afford it, however, there’s something to be said for some high-quality wood panelling. Look for rich, darker tones to really drive the rustic feel home.

Alternatively, use a lighter wood like maple or white oat in spaces that you want to feel larger. Even just a small amount of material can have a huge impact so choose wisely.

    Source the Right Wall Art

    source: Pavel Danilyuk

The right wall art can transform the look and feel of your interiors. How will you elevate the walls of your spaces? Bespoke installations? A few choice pieces that depict the countryside? Something else entirely? Sometimes all it takes to anchor your theme is the right painting.

Your online art supplier should be able to help with this. Discuss your goals with them and they’ll find what you need.

    Find the Perfect Vintage Pieces

    source: Ksu&Eli

While not all vintage pieces are rustic in nature, a rustic interior is really taken to the next level if you can find furniture from years gone by. Think old-school farmhouse tables, welcoming wooden chairs, and beds that await your tired guests like a pair of open arms.

    Neutral Tones Work Best

    source: target.com

We’re huge fans of a pop of colour in most designs, but rustic design styles are best served with more neutral tones. There’s no need to get showy here – trust your furniture, art, and other pieces and let their beauty shine through.

Choose two to three neutral tones and use them wisely throughout your interiors. Trust your instincts and don’t be afraid to experiment along the way! How can you help your guests feel more at home? If you can achieve this, you’ll have created a rustic paradise.

    NO.01

    Galeries Lafayette France,Paris

Galeries Lafayette, located at No. 40 Haussmann Avenue in Paris, adjacent to the Paris Opera House, covers an area of over 70,000 square meters. With exquisite and diversified artistic styles and a wide variety of commodities, it has become the most eye-catching shopping paradise in the world in the past century.

In 1893, Théophile Bader and Alphonse Kahn, Cousins from Alsace, decided to open a boutique department store on the corner of Lafayette Road and Chausee d 'Antin Road.

Aux Galeries Lafayette in the name of Galeries Lafayette means "gallery" in French. Excellent geographical location, unique architectural decoration, and exquisite shopping corridor made this flagship store, from its beginning, destined to be different.

Galeries Lafayette opened in 1912 after a renovation designed by talented architect Ferdinand Chanut. Sunlight pours down from the glass dome, covering the dazzling array of goods in a dream "palace of luxury fashion".

In addition to the classic symbol, the 43-meter high central dome, there are dazzling art Nouveau interiors, neo-Byzantine glass carvings, and grand escalators and ironwork inspired by the Paris Opera House.

The stunning visual effect of the window is like an art gallery, attracting countless eyes to follow and sending out overwhelming temptation. The viewing platform on the top floor of the mall offers a panoramic view of Paris. Making it the second most popular tourist attraction after the Eiffel Tower.

In the 1990s, Galeries Lafayette pioneered the concept of "urban mall", with its boutiques, services, and entertainment spaces, making shopping a new leisure experience and entertainment.

With the motto of fashion and innovation, Galeries Lafayette, in deep cooperation with the Pompidou Center and the Museum of Modern Art, not only funds creative activities for a long time but also displays the masterpieces of the world's top designers.

The Christmas tree and its decorations attract the world's attention during significant festival events.

In 2001, the mall opened Galeries Lafayette Gallery in the free space connected with the second floor to highlight the invisible link between art, fashion, and design.

As a family business inherited for five generations, Galeries Lafayette has become a fashion landmark in Paris, integrating leisure shopping and life experience by combining unique creativity with artistic flavor across time and history.

  7. How to Arrange Wall Art for a Flawless Home Display

    source: Daniil Silantev

A home display is the perfect way to showcase your favorite wall art alongside family photos and other treasured momentos. Not only will it make for a great conversation piece, but it will also give the space a cozier and more welcoming vibe.

Doing this can be tricky, though. Here are a few tips on how to arrange wall art for the perfect home display.

    Choose the Wall

    source: Behzad Ghaffarian

Before picking out the artwork that you’ll be hanging up, first choose which wall to use. Should you opt for a large blank space? Or would the smaller one be better? The size of your canvas will determine which pieces you’ll need – for instance, an expansive surface requires big and bold wall art, while a small space would need clusters of petite frames.

The location of this wall will also play a crucial role in how the home display will ultimately look. If it’s the kitchen, then make sure to hang the artwork in a place where it won’t get easily damaged by water or heat. On the other hand, if it’s in the living room, then opt for the space above the mantel or fireplace. Not only will it make for a great focal point, but it will also be a fantastic way to start conversations with guests.

    Consider the Furniture and Decor

    source: Klaudia Piaskowska

Wall art should be cohesive with the overarching theme of your home, so consider your existing furniture and decor when picking artwork. Choose pieces that perfectly complement the colors in the space. For example, neutral grays and beige would go well with earthy green and bronze shades. Meanwhile, a rich and warm palette means going for crimson, turmeric, and those in the same spectrum.

If you want a dynamic home display, then combine different styles of artwork. For instance, you can mix and match photographs, abstract pieces, and portraits on a single wall. Doing this will add depth and texture to the space, although make sure that the pieces are cohesive and won’t detract from one another.

    Choose Between Symmetrical and Asymmetrical

    source: Collov Home Design

A symmetrical home display is fairly traditional, creating a window-like display that will exude an orderly and formal vibe. If you’re opting for this, then experts recommend investing in pieces that are of the same size and have identical frames. These should be hung in a grid or horizontal rows, with equal spaces between each one.

On the other hand, an asymmetrical home display is “organized chaos.” It has a more eclectic feel, with clusters of wall art in various shapes, orientations, frames, and sizes. Other kinds of wall decor, such as sculptures, mirrors, and scones, can also be incorporated into the space. This type of arrangement undoubtedly allows for a ton of creativity; however, make sure that a visual balance is maintained.

    Don’t Forget to Measure

    source: Vinicius "amnx" Amano

When creating a fabulous home display, it’s important to have accurate measurements of the wall and the artwork that you’ll be hanging up. It may be time-consuming to do this, but you’ll have an easier time spacing everything out properly. After all, you don’t want to put up a piece only to find out that it throws the entire arrangement off-balance!

“Allow for at least four inches between frames; any closer and the art pieces can look overcrowded,” says Texas-based interior designer Stephanie Lindsey. “And when pieces are really close, every little imperfection stands out, so it makes it essential to hang everything perfectly level.”

Accurate measurements of the wall art will also help you maintain a visual balance in your home display. To do so, hang up larger and more prominent first before adding smaller pieces. Working outward is also highly recommended; that way, it’ll be easier to expand the arrangement as your collection inevitably grows over time.

    Hang Artwork at Eye Level

    source: Jeroen van Pelt

The rule of thumb in interior design is to hang wall art at eye level, which means anywhere between 57 and 60 inches off the ground. However, pieces should be hung much lower than this if the space has fairly low ceilings. You might want to consider doing the same if you’re creating a home display in the living or dining rooms, where occupants are often sitting down.

When creating a cluster of wall art, make sure to hang the most prominent piece at eye level. This will create a focal point in the home display, allowing for easy viewing and making it more likely that your guests will leave an appreciative comment.

"The corrosion method means that anticorrosive wax or preservatives are coated on the layout to form a layer of anticorrosive film, which is painted on the layout with an engraving needle and then placed in the corrosion. Where the engraving needle scrapes off the anticorrosive film, it will be corroded and form a concave line. The longer the corrosion time, the deeper the concave line will be. The effect of natural corrosion and oxidation of copper plate in the artwork forms a sharp contrast with other metals in a different texture."

Let’s say you’ve chosen blue for your color theme of choice. Don’t feel like you have to stick to just the one shade! The beauty of color lies in its diversity. Whatever colorful interior design ideas you’re trying, don’t be afraid to experiment from light to dark!

You could use sky blue sofas situated next to navy blue walls adorned with pastel blue artwork, for example.

    Dive Into Color Theory

Think of the interior spaces you’ve visited and truly fallen in love with. Chances are, the colors in each room were matched impeccably. Learning how to find complementary colors is one of the most powerful skills an interior designer can learn.

Which neutral tones can you choose to elevate your focus color? Which two or three colors can you combine to create something that’s greater than the sum of its parts?

Color theory can work wonders here. You don’t exactly need a design degree to be successful, but understanding the basic principles can make decisions significantly more accessible. With the right resources and know-how, you’ll be creating incredible rooms in no time!

    Trust Your Instincts

It’s natural to want your colorful interior design ideas to be perfect, and that’s ok. The thing is, your gut feelings are usually there for a reason. If you’re in the middle of a designing process and an idea strikes, don’t hesitate to run with it.

Attracting the right guests and boosting your income is sometimes just around the corner. Your online art supplier can really help here too. They’ll be able to match your creative energy with the right artwork, pieces, and ideas.

Once you’ve found a supplier that understands your vision, the world is your oyster!
